While everyone was eagerly awaiting the Pantone Color of the Year drop in December with bated breath, we were already prepping for the biggest color and design trends to take hold as we looked toward the start of 2025.
As Miamians, we get the privilege of living in paradise, surrounded by the city’s bright bold colors and airy designs. But big design trends, you know the one’s that shape the industry and market – they like to give our magic city a little run for its proverbial money.
Here’s what to expect in 2025 as far as design and color trends go – and how to incorporate them into your South Florida home.

Architect Hannes Peer told Elle Décor to expect to see “shades that evoke the calm patina of natural materials.” Designers have all been claiming earth-toned yellows will be used more frequently to evoke a sense of calm, restful spaces within the home.
You can give thanks to Nicola Coughlan and Johnny Bailey for pushing our interests towards the Regency era due to Bridgerton as you may see more designers looking to centuries earlier for design inspiration. Charming and romantically styled rooms, including carving out private sitting areas in bedrooms may just be all the rage in 2025.
For some more modern trends, it seems Art Deco will be taking center stage as well. This bodes well for us Miamians as we can highlight the classically cool designs of the city right back into our homes.
One of the most important things to remember about design trends is that they are just that – trends. Meaning here today, gone tomorrow. Our best piece of advice for our clients is to be sure to focus on what inspires you when it comes to your own home. Be sure you can live with your design choices, if not forever, at least for a while.
