Older homes in Coral Gables with large tree canopies and mature landscaping provide great opportunities for outdoor living projects. This house was typical in that all of the rear doors opened to stairs, which broke the movement from the house to the outdoors.
Our team designed a raised patio area at the same level as the house, and effectively extended the living room and kitchen entertainment spaces to the outside. A trellis creates an intimate seating area for relaxing and conversation separate from the central dining space. The new stair creates a welcoming pathway up to the patio from the back garden.
